Living A Healthy Life Of Serenity
I am sure I can speak for most when I say that we all wish to live not only a healthy life, but one of serenity. I for one, (and I am sure you will agree) want to live a life that is fulfilling, happy and without a single day passing me by. To accomplish this, a healthy life means, of body, mind, and soul. Diet and exercise are just a part of that agenda, but it can also be the starting point.
Before COVID-19 breakout around the world, we took a lot for granted, and were accustomed to going to the gym, theaters, stores etc. without a moment’s thought. Now, we are finding new ways to interact, shop, work, entertain and exercise. Even though most things seem to have gone back to normal, our lives have still been changed and we now find ourselves living and doing things a little differently.
Technology gives us an abundance of options. Sometimes though, finding the right options can be frustrating, time consuming and a lot of trial and error. Healthy Serenity is here to help make this journey easier. .
Exercise And Diet
As businesses such as gyms, restaurants, salons and barber shops closed, re-opened and closed again, we found ourselves trying to adjust to these changes within our own walls which had become more and more familiar. Our homes, if they weren’t already – became our salons, restaurants, gyms, for some work, and anything else we found we could no longer leave our front doors and go to so easily. Some people may already have had work-out equipment and videos set up; many others may not have. YouTube, gaming systems, videos, live streaming, and small equipment were being searched out and utilized. All of these are options to set your schedule, routines and workouts in the comforts of your own home. I use small work-out equipment, such as tension bars and resistance bands as well as a mini hydraulic stair stepper. The WII makes it easy to use the CD videos and follow along. This small and efficiently spaced home gym gives me everything I need to accomplish my work-out goals. Even with the Covid-19 closures re-open, I find myself still utilizing my home instead of traveling to the gym.

I know some people may wrinkle their nose at the idea of hobbies. Not everyone has an interest in creating, but being creative is not the only choice for a hobby. It can be coloring, canning, reading, fishing, etc., or even finding something of interest to share by way of video; the most popular being YouTube. You can start bicycling more, or hiking, or write the book you always wanted to but never found the time for. It’s a matter of finding ways to spend time away from the computer a little more, and away from the tv set a lot more!
Being sedentary is not the best way to spend your time when trying to keep a healthy life, and most of the hobbies and activities you can come up with can create time with friends safely, and family. I love to crochet, and due to COVID-19, the group I had met with on a monthly basis turned to Zoom. I am still able to visit and laugh with my friends while enjoying and sharing this hobby even though I had moved 3,000 miles away thanks to the choice of using technology to keep in touch during the pandemic. All of these and any other activity you come up with can help keep your health, regain it, or even find that healthy serenity you are looking for, may have lost, or are just realizing you hadn’t had in your busy life before.

The Changing World Of Work
Work is still a concern now, more so than it had been prior to Covid-19. With the loss of so many jobs, companies downsizing and closing, we found ourselves struggling and scared even with the possibility that when we find a new job, it may not last if closures happened again. Remote work is now becoming a new way of operation, not just a way to keep the employees and business running during that scarier time. Working remotely is becoming a more valued and desired way for the employee as well as the employer.
We find ourselves re-arranging our space to suit office space and condense the necessary equipment, white boards and etc. to now work from home rather than traveling to the office.
The trick is to balance this work from home routine with home life. To keep the two separated – leaving work in it’s corner and leaving the rest of our home out of that corner.
Finding Our Way
As our way of life continues to change and we find new ways of living our lives, new goals, as well as lifestyles, we are looking to the internet for information, ideas and products. Diet and exercise and re-organizing are the beginning of this journey, to creating a healthier, more fulfilling life and one of serenity. Finding the happiness, we now seek, and a way to keep it regardless of the chaos and obstacles life throws our way. Finding ways to accomplish these goals can be found throughout this blog.
